Facebook announced on Wednesday that the social network is used by 2 billion people per month.

Zuckerberg had previously announced the milestone, but Wednesday's earnings make it a bit more official.
And if you could tell, Zuck is pretty excited about it.
"We had a good second quarter and first half of the year," he said in a press release about the earnings. "Our community is now two billion people and we're focusing on bringing the world closer together."
And it's not just the number of monthly users that Facebook is boasting about—almost 2/3 of those users visit Facebook ever day.
Facebook released the number as part of its second-quarter earnings release, in which it also decimated just about any and all expectations. The company brought in $9.3 billion in revenue in the last three months.
Mobile is still Facebook's world, with 87 percent of the company's revenue coming from ads that show up on smartphones.
Facebook continues to grow at a spectacular rate considering its size, but has also begun to warn that it can't keep up this pace.

Facebook isn't just growing in terms of users and revenue. It's also been adding new employees rapidly. The company now has a headcount of 20,658 as of June 30, 2017, according to the earnings release. That's 43 percent more people than Facebook employed this time last year.
The good news pushed Facebook stock to a fresh all time high, with shares up about 1.5 percent in after-hours trading.
