On Tuesday morning, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that there will be another general election on 8 June.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter had a few things to say about that. The second the news was out, social media was packed with the usual avalanche of jokes, gifs, and memes.

Many people weren't too thrilled by the news.

There were also many, many tweets about the Labour party and Jeremy Corbyn (Labour have been polling pretty badly lately, and many don't think their future is looking too bright right now).

Mostly, though, people were just anticipating another year of total political chaos.

2017 is going to be a long year.
