Simone Giertz went into brain surgery in the most positive way possible.
The YouTuber and "Shitty Robot" creator posted a video before her surgery on Wednesday, joking that she couldn't wait to see photos of her brain because she was convinced that it was beautiful. She announced that she had a non-cancerous brain tumor in April.

UPDATE: May 30, 2018, 9:02 p.m. PDT A post to Giertz's Twitter account says that she is out of surgery and her doctors are "very pleased" with how the procedure went. In typical Giertz fashion, she apparently also made an inappropriate joke.

Giertz initially thought the swelling behind her right eye was because of allergies, but tests revealed that she had a golf ball-sized tumor. Although it's not malignant, the size of the tumor means that removal will involve an extensive 8 to 12 hour surgery.
The daunting recovery process and possible health impacts -- which include vision loss and seizures -- haven't stopped Giertz from confronting her tumor with a sense of humor. She named it Brain the Brain tumor and tweeted an eviction notice at it. In her video revealing her diagnosis, she called it "#TumorHumor."

Giertz is known for building cool machines that don't quitework as expected, like a robotic arm to feed her breakfast that ends up making a mess or a hammering machine that destroys everything.
"You came here for shitty robots, but all you get is shitty jokes about shitty health," she said in the diagnosis video. "Everything's gonna be fine."
