MTV is shaking things up for the 2017 Movie & TVAwards.

For the first time ever, the awards show will include both television and movies, which means amazing matchups like Allison Williams vs The Demagorgon and Grant Gustin vs. Taraji P. Henson.

To accommodate the content expansion, MTV added new categories: Show of the Year, Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Tearjerker and Next Generation. And because MTV is apparently woke, that's not all:

In addition, MTV is introducing two new and timely categories: Best American Story, awarded to the show or film that showcases America at its best – open and diverse, as well as Best Fight Against the System (formerly Best Fight) awarded to the film or show whose characters best exemplify fighting against a system that tries to keep them down. The network has also replaced the former Best Actor and Best Actress categories with non-gendered Best Actor in a Movie and Best Actor in a Show. Two additional categories will be revealed closer to the show.
