The dominoes keep falling for Harvey Weinstein. Days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts voted to expel the alleged rapist, the Producers Guild of America has also begun the process of kicking him out.

The move is clearly meant to send a message about sexual abuse within Hollywood. "Sexual harassment of any type is completely unacceptable," reads the statement. "This is a systemic and pervasive problem requiring immediate industry-wide action."
To that end, the PGA board also announced today that it has "created the Anti-Sexual Harassment Task Force specifically charged with researching and proposing substantive and effective solutions to sexual harassment in the entertainment industry."
It's been two weeks since The New York Timespublished their exposé of Weinstein's decades-long history of sexual harassment and assault. Since then, the accusations against Weinstein have continued to pile up, and so have the consequences for him.
He's been fired from The Weinstein Company (which he co-founded with his brother, Bob Weinstein), which is now struggling to get back on track as artists have scrambled to distance themselves. He's come under police investigation in two countries, though he's yet to be formally charged.
Such is the outpouring of condemnation against him that Timelabeled him a "pariah" when they put him on their cover. Those who've defended Weinstein – like directors Oliver Stone and Woody Allen and fashion designer Donna Karan – have met with such swift backlash that they've all backtracked.
It's an incredibly dramatic change in fortune for a man who, up until earlier this month, was one of the most prominent and powerful producers the industry had ever seen. Just four years ago, the same Producers Guild that's trying to oust Weinstein today was handing him and his brother the Milestone Award.
