The speciality burger is just one of many Hello Kitty-themed dishes on the restaurant's new menu, which is available for a limited time only. Through March, The Guest will offer main dishes, desserts and drinks adorned with Hello Kitty's face and that of her cartoon boyfriend, Dear Daniel.

Marketers in the food industry know the unusual appeal of a novelty hamburger. Naturally, The Guest's offerings are significantly cuter than past attempts from some of the bigger fast food giants.

In 2015, KFC launched pink buns at Chinese locations, while Burger King launched black buns dyed with squid ink. And in 2016, McDonald's experimented with green buns at its Chinese locations. Burger King went for red.
