Winter is most definitely here, which means most people are relishing the idea of bundling up in multiple layers while watching TV.

Other people have a different idea they are more inclined to explore outdoors and shoot photos of snowflakes.

Michael Peresis one of those people. He enjoys posted photos on on his Instagram of stunning and intricate snowflakes.

The formation of each snowflake crystal is manipulated by atmospheric conditions. Small changes in temperature or humidity can affect the overall shape of a snowflake.

A photographer by the name of Wilson Alwyn Bentley was also fascinated with taking photos of the crystal patterned snowflakes. He captured his first snowflake photo in 1885 and over the course of his life he photographed more than 5,000 unique snowflakes.

Michael Peres seems to have a similar love for the distinctive design of each snowflake.
